The day's discovery

Sugerloaf Mountain near Clermont, Florida, is not actually a mountain.

  • I beg to differ. Sugarloaf Mountain is, in fact, the highest point in peninsular Florida, rising a staggering 312 feet above sea level.

    I'm getting altitude sickness just thinking about the climb.

  • Yah, the "mountain" was so high we needed oxygen. Actually, I remember reading a Dave Barry column, where he mentions that the highest point in Florida is actually a garbage dump.

  • FYI, it's spelled "Clermont". You'd think a writer such as yourself would be more attentive to spelling :-).
