Old timer

Currently I am on a summer mission trip in Chile, along with a bunch of college students. Early on, I revealed a little too much about myself.
Girl: "Before we came, I found out about a lot of the other students on Facebook."
Me: "Uh, what's Facebook?"
Girl: "Dude, you just dated yourself."

I preceeded to boast my hip credentials: my blog, Podcast subscriber, Ipod owner...but the damage was already done.

  • I completely read this the wrong way and thought, "How could Chris date himself???? And what was he possibly doing to make people think he wouldn't ever want to date someone BUT himself? " And the next thought, "Is this an instance of being narcissistically gay?"

    And then I understood.

    THAT kind of dated.
